Our Commitment to Health & Safety in the Wake of Covid 19

We believe that private or semi-private swim lessons with the same coach each week in an outdoor neighborhood or private pool exposes you to the least risk out of the many available options for swim lessons. For that reason, we have decided that Submerge Yourself Aquatics will begin enrollment for private swim lessons and water aerobics in outdoor neighborhood and private pools only. Public pool and Indoor pool lessons and water aerobics classes will still be postponed until further notice for the safety of our students and coaches. Group lessons and pool parties will also be postponed.

In addition,

All coaches will wear face shields while in the water and pool deck.

Water toys and learning aids will be scaled down to essentials and thoroughly cleaned with bleach after use.

We will be offering our Parent & Me classes to all ages. If any parent wants to teach their child in the water, we will be happy to instruct the parent from a safe distance and or with a shield or mask.

We will be offering the option of safe distance swim lessons, no touch swim lessons, lessons with masks, and we can even coach from out of the pool if you prefer.

We want our students and their families to be comfortable and safe and we are willing to go above and beyond to make that happen. Please let us know if there are any safety measures you would like to see put in place at your or your child’s lesson.

And we don’t want you to have to worry about missed appointments when you’re feeling under the weather. If for any reason you or your child are not feeling well or if you have come in contact with someone who is feeling ill or suspected of having the virus it’s a good idea to reschedule your swim lesson. But, don’t worry: We are currently allowing unlimited makeup lessons, so you won’t miss out on your classes. Just text us and let us know you won’t be at your lesson, and we’ll reschedule it.

Under Phase 2 Guidelines set by our state, NC pools will be reopening with reduced capacity. So it’s likely that your neighborhood pool will be opening. We believe we are the best option for swim lessons at this time given the situation. You will be guaranteed contact with only one of our two coaches and you will have the same coach for every lesson. You won’t have to worry about large class sizes or unclean indoor facilities and toys like you would at most other swim schools either and we come to you and teach in your own neighborhood or private pool.

And because we know the virus has negatively impacted many families financially, we are offering a free lesson with enrollment for everyone who signs up from now until July 1st.

We genuinely believe swim lessons can be taught safely and without risk of spreading the virus. Rest assured that we will be doing everything we can to protect our students, their families and ourselves. We remain committed to being mindful of the risks and precautions during this time.

Looking forward to seeing you in the water soon,

Drew & Amanda Ratliff

Still on the fence about swim lessons?

Per the CDC, “There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs.  Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19”.
